Chuma Reloaded
2 Thoth – Five fortunate disciples became the latest to claim ownership of the highly anticipated recently released set of Chuma gear.  In order of acquisition, they are: saucybandit, JUSTINTYME, Doru, Recklosh, and ghostOpyroto.  The purchase of these rare artifacts at the moment of restocking is considered by many the single, most challenging task in all of Ankhet.

Pick your Poison
Update, 1 Epagomenae – How can anybody resist the temptations of furthering the progress of one’s character even in the face of war?  The Deluge brings with it many wonderful adventures, exciting trades and unique artifacts.  It is only natural for one to want to make use of the bountiful season, especially since it may not come again for a time.  Well, this is perhaps the line of thought under which CaesiusCurationis (Lunchlandia), now forever infamous for last week’s record-breaking Condemn, chose to operate.  To complete the path of Selket undetected was too much to hope for, however, as CaesiusCurationis suffered a familiar poisonous mix of Wither, Blaze and Exhaust before even reaching level 20, and in this wounded state Poison (Hatred) left him to rot away in the Underworld, making him the perfect delicacy for circling vultures.

Moments later, Jim (N: Hatred), who was the target of the most devastating Condemn ever recorded, relinquished his post as Ankhet of Sekhmet without notice and converted to the path of Amin-Ra.  An agonizing countdown sounded throughout the land of the living and echoed into the depths of the Underworld as Jim patiently climbed his way up to a position of great power.  Meanwhile, five ominous Black Vials were sent to CaesiusCurationis, a gift from the previously inactive founder of the dominion Hatred, Spam Witch, which has come to signify imminent ill-fortune.   When suddenly, a blinding light cut through the heavens and in a quick flash CaesiusCurationis’ favour, wisdom, and path were simultaneously reset; he had been subjected to the judgment of Ra.  Furthermore, the Golden Ankh which was sacrificed in the conversion to Selket had become utterly wasted.

Then at long last we heard from Jim who, in spite of the recent Judgment, declared that a debt of 40 million favour was still owed to him; the preferred form of payment of which would be through 40 Puzzle Boxes.  This debt would be too overwhelming for CaesiusCurationis to repay.  Realizing the potential for a definitive end to the conflict, Doru (Disciples of the South) paid off the debt in its entirety, thus bringing closure to the drama. But is the feud really over?

2 Epagomenae – Three days after the successful Condemn of their leader, Hatred members continued their battle campaign against lone gunman, CaesiusCurationis.  Having grown weary of repeated attacks occurring at seemingly random intervals, CaesiusCurationis decided to fight back as his cries of injustice fell onto deaf ears.  Unable to kill Poison through Duel, however, he was forced to withdraw prematurely.  Realizing the efficiency of one of his new patron’s many unique abilities, he proceeded to Soulrift Poison into submission, thus saving himself from complete embarrassment.  The maneuver was quickly reversed by Spam Witch, who followed it up with a warning to cease all attacks on Hatred members.  A brief dialogue ensued and peace has prevailed ever since.  But will it last?

There was a good amount of change in rankings this week possibly attributed to the availability of the widely-coveted, expensive rarities that are Chuma artifacts.  Title transfers were evident in a staggering five paths.  Recall, there are only 12 paths in total, one of which remains vacant.   We have a new Ankhet of Ankhets, Ivan the Cat (Lunchlandia) a follower of Sekhmet, who is by no means a stranger to the apex of the Ankhet leaderboard.  Next to him is Djeret Netjer (N: Hem-Netjer) who has extended his streak of Ankhet of Thoth for the fifth straight week; followed then by FranChom (N: Lunchlandia), who with this mention also increases his Ankhet streak to five.  Speaking of streaks, neminem (Lunchlandia) and Sut (Pennant) both have impressively reached the 8 week mark!

Surveying the threat of losing its Ankhet position, Monolith has shifted to production mode, generating the second most levels of dominions for the given period.  Hatred presses on, however, more than doubling that effort to cross over the 400 level mark.  Pennant, which recently suffered a drop in rank, seems motivated and inspired, gaining a healthy 19 levels.  Meanwhile, the Hem-Netjer dominion had another productive week, earning 20 levels and moving ever so close to overtaking the 6th spot.
